Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire

When Mr. Reel saw this event on the agenda he quickly remembered it. He was able to tell me that this occurred over a hundred years ago before his time. That about 150 people passed away. I was very impressed that he was able to recall as much info even before attending the lecture. This tragic event took place right here in NYC on March 25, 1911. A fire burned down an entire factory killing 146 people including teenagers and younger children.
